Do the Mashed Potato! : D 2002-04-03 / 8:28 p.m.
I wasn't planning on writing in here today but Melissa just came on and then had to sign off and said she would be back on in about 10 minutes and I have nothing to do right now so I'm gonna write in here. Wow, that was a long sentence. Ok, first I'm gonna tell you the wonderful, lindsay, exciting news that I can't contain any longer...Jesse McCartney of Dream Street might be on a show on Nickelodeon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Here's the little blurb thingie that was on his website: Two questions have come up recently. Soaps In Depth magazine mentioned Jesse doing a TV series. What is this about? How did Soaps In Depth know about this before it was on the web site and before you (his publicist)? Several months ago Jesse filmed a pilot for a series on Nickelodeon called "Legacy of Cameron Cruz." Jesse plays the lead character Cameron Cruz. When Jesse was in Toronto filming the pilot episode he missed some DS appearances and concerts and the rumors were going around that he was sick or something. He was not sick. He was working on this project. Two weeks ago we set up an interview with Soaps In Depth for Jesse and told them about the pilot so Jesse could talk about it. The Soaps In Depth article just came out before we thought it would. We had not mentioned anything on the site before then because we were waiting to hear if the pilot had been picked up for a full season on Nickelodeon. We still don't know for sure. All I can tell you is the show is great! It has done well with test audiences and we expect Nickelodeon to order a full season of episodes. We will tell you here when we get the news. Of course we knew about it when it happened several months ago! To answer the question before it is asked....What is it about? A "Sixth Sense" for television. Cameron Cruz's life is set into a tailspin when he must move from his native Los Angeles to Savannah, Georgia in search of his Grandfather who has mysteriously disappeared. Cameron's big city attitude often clashes with the small town locals, but these everyday difficulties are nothing compared to the unexpected "gift" that his Grandfather has left for him - the ability to see into the past and future. Ok, it's kinda long but I want everyone to know the correct facts and I don't really feel like explaining it all either, so it helps. Now that I have that out of my system I'll talk about my day. School was normal except I wore sandals because it was warm and forgot sneakers for gym. Thank goodness Talia had some extra shoes even thought they were a little muddy and a little big, they worked. Then I had an orthodontist's appointment because one side of my bottom retainer was digging into my gum, but I think I already talked about that. But now it's fixed so it's all good. After that my mom took me to A.C.Moore to get clay for my French game project. It's Sculptey and I got a big variety pack with little squares of 30 different colors! It's really really cool! I love clay. Not as much as Play-doh, but clay's still cool. Then we went to Borders because I had some gift certificates. I got 4 new books. I love the bookstore. I could spend so much time in there just looking at all the books and music and other bookstore-y stuff. The most fun I had at a bookstore was when Mr. Mijares took Melissa and I to Barnes and Noble and we had a slice of this really good Reeses Peanutbutter Cup Pie and then spent like 2 1/2 hours just looking at books and listening to music and stuff. It was a lot of fun. The books I got look really good and I can't wait to start reading them. They are called In My Enemy's House which takes place during WWII, Timeless Love which is about this girl who goes back in time somehow and meets Prince Edward VI and falls in love with him, Sarah's Story which is the first book in a quartet and takes place during WWI and Rose Daughter which is a retelling of Beauty and the Beast. As you can see I like historical fiction books. I wanted to get the new Princess Diaries book, Princess in Love but it only came in hardcover and I refuse to pay all that money for a hardcover book when I can either get it out of the library or borrow it from Melissa when she gets it, because I know she will, or buy it when it comes out in paperback. My mom also got me 2 books out of the library called Boston Jane and Matilda Bone which also look good. So I am loaded on books. I love having that feeling. Well, it's been 10 minutes and Melissa still isn't back and I have nothing else to talk about sooooo...I guess I'm gonna end now cuz I don't wanna keep babbling on sounding like an idiot because that's what I do when I have nothing to say. It's kind of fun to do the impossible-Walt Disney (man, I love that guy. He's a genius!) ~Lindsay~
