don't wish it away, don't look at it like it's forever For most of the population of my sophomore class, today was a wonderful day full of preparation and excitement, well, for most of the girls it was. This is because tonight is the night of the Sophomore Cotillion. It is happening as I write this, as a matter of fact. But, the non-likeable-by-a-person-of-the-opposite-sex kind of person I am, I don't have a date. So while everyone else was going to hair and nail appointments and giggling with their girlfriends about what was going to happen tonight and deciding who is going where at what time, etc I was helping kindergarten through 5th graders make dinky little sand art thingies and having the time of my life...NOT! So yes, I was helping out at the school fair of my former elementary school. The highlight of the day was when Emily won a raffle prize. She won a free skating party ($79.50 value) and a $25 gift certificate from the Classic Cake Company. This will come in handy considering her birthday is March 2nd (next Sunday) and we're just a tad coughVERYcough short on money at the moment. I entered in 5 raffles, but didn't win any. :( Some were cool too. Like that portable DVD player. And the scrapbook supplies one. Oh well. Out of the 11 years I've been going to it, I only won a raffle once, and I wasn't even THERE when I won. Then we came home and I did more oh-so-fun (::sarcasm::) things. Like reading, and practicing my flute, and going on the computer. The high point of my day occurred when I was informed that I no longer had to babysit tonight. Then I thought I could do something with Melissa. So I called her, but, alas, she was not home. I went online and her away message informed me that she was at the Moorestown Mall with her family. So I waited. And waited. And waited. When it was 7:00 and I still had not heard from her, I decided to go to A.C. Moore with my mom and sister to get supplies for something Emily had to make. Barnes and Noble is very close to A.C. Moore. I was almost able to convince my mom to go there too, but no. We had to come home so that Emily could complete her project. I did get Armance a cute poster of 3 baby tigers, which happen to be her favorite animal. Well, tigers are, and I'm assuming that baby tigers are included in this favoritism. They are very cute if I may say so myself. Anyway, it turns out that Melissa had received my messages, but she went to a movie with other friends instead who called her right when she got home and told her that they were already at the movie theatre and had already purchased her ticket. So, being the nice friend to those people that she is, she felt obliged to go. I probably would have done the same in her shoes, but I was not in her shoes, I was in mine. So I was a little peeved. She did think I was babysitting and stuff so yeah, I'll forgive her this time. Oh yes, I almost forgot the true highlight of my day. I finally got the pictures back from when Armance was here. The roll basically consists of pictures from Atlantic City, pictures my mom took of us in the snow (most of them pointless so it was a waste of good picture space) and pictures from the last day. Unfortunately, some pictures were lost because they were at the end of the roll and did not fit on it or something so I just thought I was taking pictures when I really wasn't. Oh well. I think Armance has copies of the same pictures on her camera too, or at least I really hope she does. They are all very good, except for the pointless let's-take-pictures-of-Emily-not-wanting-us-to-take-pictures-of-her-while-in-the-snow pictures. I can't wait for Armance to mail me the doubles of her pictures also. And to get the ones developed that are on my parents' camera. Woohoo. Something to look forward too! Ok, time to wallow in misery a little more and look at my pictures again! :) Yay for Manu in my pictures! |
